Episcopal Church "downsizes" - by eliminating national Evangelism office

Father T. Listens to the World: Time to Update My Resume h/t Jackie Bruchi at Stand Firm.

I feel like I am beating a dead horse, but the national church's own stats and surveys, which were given to all the folks at the General Convention, showed that Evangelism was not happening in most of the shrinking denomination's congregations.

More and more, I am convinced that we are seeing a very small group of people grabbing up financial resources in a "one generation" plan to maintain their positions and pensions, with no regard for the future of the church.

Fr. Martin, although a progressive's progressive, was obviously not in the inner circle of the club.

This coven seems willing to make all kinds of human sacrifices.

I think this might be a good thing, actually. If TEC's not evangelizing, there's also slightly less chance of spreading the infection.

We might be able to guess who's in the charmed inner circle of TEC by looking at the comments section. A lot of outraged revisionists there, including Lisa Fox and the Swan of Newark - even Louie Crew! But no comment from Susan Russell. Must be the "I'm alright, Jack" principle at work.

The good news is (which I was actually surprised by) was that they didn't touch the Native American Ministries budget, which is crucial here in SD and elsewhere.
