Forget the sex, there's no money!

The Living Church Foundation | Austerity Budget ‘Reflects Scarcity’

GREAT COVERAGE BY STEVE WARING, AS MENTIONED IN THE ANGLICAN TV COMMENTARY.

BADLY DECLINING DONATIONS FROM THE DIOCESES (STATES/REGIONS) UP TO THE NATIONAL BUREAUCRACY; BUT MASSIVE INCREASES IN NATIONAL SPENDING ON LAWSUITS AND OTHER ATTACKS ON TRADITIONAL CHRISTIANS.

The conventional wisdom has always been that TEC has the financial resources to crush any number of individual parishes and even a diocese or two. As with all conventional wisdom, there seem to be some cracks showing in the reality. If as expected by both conservatives and liberals there is a new exodus coming, even TEC may come close to its financial breaking point.

Tregonsee - I think that the national leadership considers most congregations expendable as long as the current generation of bishops and activists has titles and positions and pensions intact.
