Holy Women - for the Rosebud, Day 23

Continue to pray our guiding verse: If your instructions* hadn’t sustained me with joy, I would have died in my misery. Psalm 119:92

* Remember that in Hebrew this says "Your (God's) Law." As you use this verse, be aware that the Law is fulfilled in the New Covenant of Christ's blood.

Anna

Anna, a prophet, was also there in the Temple. She was the daughter of Phanuel from the tribe of Asher, and she was very old. Her husband died when they had been married only seven years. Then she lived as a widow to the age of eighty-four.She never left the Temple but stayed there day and night, worshiping God with fasting and prayer. She came along just as Simeon was talking with Mary and Joseph, and she began praising God. She talked about the child to everyone who had been waiting expectantly for God to rescue Jerusalem.
Luke 2:36-38

Father of all, we pray to you for the women on the Rosebud. What pain their eyes witness! We pray for the grandmothers who have seen so much and waited so long. We pray for widows, young and old. We pray for your daughters in Christ, praying and fasting in your presence down through the years.

Let them see Jesus on the Rosebud. Let them see Him rescue the people from suicide. Put your praise on their tongues. We pray in Jesus' Name. Amen.
