Kiffin ditches Vols to take over for Carroll at USC - NCAA Football - CBSSports.com

From the article:

"The 34-year-old Kiffin is one of Carroll's top disciples from his nine-year tenure at USC."

OK, for my really, really Anglican readers: does that make Kiffin a Carrolline Divine?

For the more football minded, Kiffin (who likes to coach offense) is bringing along his dad, Monte, a defensive guy, and Ed Orgeron, a d-type who recruited many of the standout players for Carroll.

UPDATE: ESPN L.A.'S ARASH MARKAZI TWEETING THAT NORM CHOW WILL LEAVE UCLA AND RETURN TO USC AS OFFENSIVE COORDINATOR!

I'm starting to feel better about my USC at Minnesota tix for Sept. 18th!

From what I saw of Tennessee last year, don't get your hopes up.

The campus police at USC might want to hire a few extra officers too.

Remember this story from Nov. 2009?
From ESPN.com

"Safety Janzen Jackson and receiver Nu'Keese Richardson, two of coach Lane Kiffin's most prized signees from his first recruiting class, were among three Tennessee football players arrested early Thursday morning in Knoxville on charges of attempted armed robbery.

The third player arrested is also a freshman, defensive back Mike Edwards. It was not immediately clear if the players have attorneys."

Graduate of UTK here. Good riddance. His pretty-boy surfer dude looks didn't work in moonshine country anyway. He'll fit in better at USC ;-)
