Yeah, that's our kid

From his November hunt in Ziebach County. For those who like trivia, it is the last county in the USA if you go alphabetically. And it is waaaaay out in the empty middle of South Dakota.

Those are wild turkeys he's holding. He was recovering from shoulder surgery and a broken wrist (aka football), so he used his no-recoil AR-15 rather than the monster 12 gauge.

That's the first time I've heard of turkey hunting with an AR-15. I like the idea, though!

Scott - I wonder if there are any domain name issues? You could have your own PETA site... with recipes!

Bob - yeah, it was an experiment (you can see the cast on his shooting wrist in the pic). But he seldom wastes a round. My late dad grew up in the Ozark Mountains and was an incredible shot (if they missed, they didn't eat!), and he used to dazzle my friends by hitting any targets we could set up - even with a BB gun! I was a decent shot (my middle aged eyes are making this harder), but managed to teach my kid the basics. But I think his grandfather's genes are his biggest ally.
