I found it interesting that this article referenced the Episcopal-ELCA Concordat. That was the first time I've read anything in the press that spoke of that.
There was quite a bit of Lutheran upset when it first passed. There were serious reservations around the differing conceptions of bishops in particular. This reporter did a really thorough job. The Concordat was a source of stress within the ELCA ranks, which were struggling a bit to firm up after the merger of the prior Lutheran judicatories.
