Sioux Falls Argus Leader gives substantial coverage to Lutheran split

Kudos to reporter Jeff Martin for interviewing folks of different perspectives and letting them speak for themselves.

He also appreciates the hurt and havoc these disputes bring to the church.

I found it interesting that this article referenced the Episcopal-ELCA Concordat. That was the first time I've read anything in the press that spoke of that.

There was quite a bit of Lutheran upset when it first passed. There were serious reservations around the differing conceptions of bishops in particular.

This reporter did a really thorough job. The Concordat was a source of stress within the ELCA ranks, which were struggling a bit to firm up after the merger of the prior Lutheran judicatories.
