Problem? What Problem?

For those wondering why we should fret about or even leave the Episcopal Church (TEC), here's some truth-is-stranger-than-fiction news:

"She does both, she says, because she's Christian and Muslim."

So she's just an eccentric, you say? Then explain this:

Redding's bishop, the Rt. Rev. Vincent Warner, says he accepts Redding as an Episcopal priest and a Muslim, and that he finds the interfaith possibilities exciting.

And think about this:

John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

Ephesians 4:4 There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling; 5 One Lord, one faith, one baptism, 6 One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.

Does the admonition from The Lord in Revelation to the Church at Loadicea come into play here, "Because ye were neither cold nor hot, I will spew you out of my mouth"?

Seems to me that this is dangerous ground...granted both religions are 'of the Book', but one is a corruption, written by a fanatic, with world domination on his mind; the other an accumulation of writings across ages, of the mind of God.

This is the inclusive church, taken to extreme...I posted to the original last week, why not become Orthodox Jewish as well, then you could have Fridays for Allah, Saturdays for Jehovah, and Sundays for Christ...(cover all bases, you know, just in case one of them was not a valid or viable option?)

I used to be in an inclusive church, until I learned that there was NO inclusion between modern Episcopalianism and pentecost. As a cradle 'high-church 'Piskie', turned (due to marriage) into a Church of God pastor and chaplain, and returned to ECUSA in 1998, my former bishop decided that I was too 'unstable' to be ordained.

This after I had been called by my parish, approved by the Commission on Ministry, completed the diocesan studies for ordination, gone through discernment, aspirancy, postulancy and candidacy, with ordination scheduled for Sunday and the 'axe' fell on Thursday, by 'third party' notification.

I am now an ordained Anglican priest, a professed Franciscan, serving God by rebuilding His Church, serving His children in need, in freedom from autocracy and heirarchical intransigencies and missing leadership from above, freedom from fear of every phone call or knock at the door, freedom to love God, freedom to follow the teachings of Christ, and full freedom to preach His Word without censure, freedom to serve His children in their need.

Why does none of this suprise me anymore!

I wonder. While Rev.Redding was getting all warm and cozy with the Isalmic faith after hearing their prayers if she ever really read the complimentary Koran they gave her at the door.
It has such juicy tidbits as this:

* Salvation comes only through Allah
* Muslims don't believe in the Trinity (but do the virgin birth--go figure)
* Islams deny the crucifixion. Jesus never died.
* Jesus was not divine--but merely a prophet.

And the most scarey one:
* Jihad is mandatory.
In fact, the only way to heaven for muslims is to die in a jihad ("holy war").

To Christians: Those who have believed on the Lord Jesus Christ and submitted their lives to his Lordship will enjoy eternal bliss in heaven, where there is no pain, sorrow, disease or death.

And did she skip the part on how a good Muslim treats the women in his life.

Which side of the fence will the Reverend be one at the pearly gates...Christian..Muslim...Christian...Muslim

I know which side I'm sitting on.
