HEY, SOUTH DAKOTA CONVENTION: YOU WANT US TO GIVE MONEY TO THIS?

PARDON MY FLAMING. BUT YOUR GREAT, UNQUESTIONABLE PRESIDING BISHOP, EXECUTIVE COUNCIL AND ASSORTED MEMBERS OF THE RULING CLASS SPENT ALMOST $2,000,000 OF CHURCH MONEY ON THEIR GOD-FORSAKEN LAWSUIT CAMPAIGN THIS YEAR ALONE.

AND THAT'S FROM THE EPISCOPAL NEWS SERVICE.

AND YOU ALL WANT OUR CONGREGATIONS TO GIVE TO A CAPITAL CAMPAIGN FOR THE DIOCESE?

Not one cent of my or my husband's money will ever reach the diocese of my state or 815. Our hard earned money buys food for the Salvation Army, buys chicks through "Samaritan's Purse" for needy families but not to help fund the distruction that follows in the wake of the PB or our own bishop. May God have mercy on them.

I'm reminded of 1 Cor. 6: 1-8

If you believe that only $2 million has been spent on lawsuits by TEC, then I have some prime commercial land in Florida I'd love to sell you... It's a steal, only $5K a acre (right in the middle of the Everglades).

The Diocese of VA has spend $2M by itself, and the national headquarters is looking at far more cases than just the VA one. I imagine the real amount is MUCH higher.

But even taking it at face value, that $2 million figure is damning enough. Imagine all the good your church could do with all that money. Or the Pine Ridge mission etc.

And Executive Council is budgeting a mere $600K for legal expenses in 2009, when there will be MORE dioceses that have left TEC? What a joke.

I don't trust anything coming out of 815 Second Avenue in Manhattan. What is needed is an independent audit of TEC's books. But I'm not holding my breath waiting for that.

Independent audits should be done of ALL parishes, dioceses and national church organizations AND agencies or else not fund them.

Accountability is mandated in Scripture.
