My former bishop (Los Angeles) says full speed ahead on Same-Sex Blessings, Homosexual Clergy, you name it.

From a lesbian advocacy site:

“I can only say that inclusion is a reality in our diocese and will continue to be. For people who think that this is going to lead us to disenfranchise any gay or lesbian person, they are sadly mistaken.”
The Rt. Reverend J. Jon Bruno, Bishop of Los Angeles*

Well, at least somebody's being honest.

*Trying to fact check. The quote first shows up here.

Indeed, Bruno hides his apostasy out in the open, where none can see it. At least Ruin Williams is blind to it.

LOL "Ruin".

But on a serious note, ++RW has inspired me and led me closer to Christ at various times. And +JJB showed me some kindness and support during my time in L.A. (until people with some $$$ told him I was expendable).

I pray for these guys, and KJS, VGR, Russel, Crew... along with the atheists, Muslims, Secularists, Communists, abortionists... all the folks who are raining harm on faithful Christians.

Like St. Paul, some of these hostile folks will be reached by Christ to suffer and witness for Him. But I really have to worry about the ones who are leaders within the church... the Scriptural warnings about their fate are harsh and I really pray that they will be reached with the Gospel (whether that is again or for the first time) and share eternity with Christ as victors, hearing Him say, "Well done, good and faithful servant."

I Corinthians 3:16 Don’t you realize that all of you together are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God lives in you? 17 God will destroy anyone who destroys this temple. For God’s temple is holy, and you are that temple. 18 Stop deceiving yourselves. If you think you are wise by this world’s standards, you need to become a fool to be truly wise.

I pray, but I admit I find it difficult to pray for those who are destroying the Church from within. If KJS, JJB et al. were all on the outside of TEC doing these things, they would rightly rally the faithful against their aggressions to the Gospel. The most insidious thing about them is their insistence that they are upholding the Gospel even as they destroy it.

Kept the one w/ your name on it!

I hope you read Canon Wong's editorial (I have a link to it a few posts down). He shares your heartache about having the enemies of the church living within it... much easier to be among faithful Christians as a cultural minority than to have faithful Christians as a minority within the church.

I read it, it was a fine piece. He would be another fine Primate to find shelter with.
