More notes from the place I hate to drive

It is easier now - I think I'm getting a handle on the Twin Cities.

Beautiful weather, and TCBank Stadium has no bad seats. Nice place to see a game. Has a sports museum donated by T. Denny Sanford.

There is a guy named Tom Emmer running for Governor of MN. He has these signs up here and there. ^

Trojans had some flaky moments but put a good game together to win. Good to see the old "Student Body Left/Right" tailback sweeps back in the arsenal.

Kiffin needs to dump the hokey "line up for a 2-pt. conversion then shift to a kick" gadget. What's the point? They missed the first (unnecessary) try for 2, then two more attempts to get it back later.

St. Paul cops just arrested a guy from the hotel where I am staying. Why, as on the show "Cops," are these suspects always shirtless???

  1. if it's any consolation re. this gubernatorial candidate -

His last name means "bucket" (in Dutch).

I hope if he wins that South Dakota gets quite a lot more jobs.

I once went to Minneapolis, but by accident. I jumped a freight train I thought was going to go south. It ended up turning around and going north.

At that time, it was a pretty clean place. Garrison Keilor pointed out that their biggest urban problem was large groups of Canadian geese.

  2. Wilf - it is still pretty clean. It seems like it would be a fun city in which to live. I just don't like the roads but maybe time would heal that.

Or maybe I should learn to hop trains!

  3. What jobs does this guy think Minnesota is losing the South Dakota? That seems like a total emotive ploy to me.

  4. What I heard was that TCBank stadium was actually built to be a state shrine to all faiths. The key was a young priest from Nebraska they were bringing in to run it - but then he went to Brookings, SD. They are steamed.
