It's too bad that nobody visited the candidates' churches. I understand the financial reasons, but I think it's a HUGE mistake. HUGE. You can't get a full picture of the candidates without it. Much can be verified or discovered through such a visit if you are discerning and keep your eyes and ears open.
Anonymous - that is an excellent insight. Much more is learned by such a visit than can be learned on paper or by phone - "no priest is an island." We can't be known apart from the ministry in which we are engaged and in particular from the people who follow us.
